The Proposal

Due to ring shopping together Mandy suspected a proposal was on its way. Jarrod still wanted an element of surprise but wasn't exactly sure how to accomplish it. Solution: lie, lie and lie some more. So Jarrod told Mandy he was going to Cleveland, OH on a last minute business trip. Of course she believed him, why wouldn't she? Mandy offered to pick Jarrod up from the airport the following evening (just as he suspected). Now this wasn't just any old lie. We're talking elaborate details: flight plans, company names, hotel descriptions, elusive parking and text
messages while he was "away" about the great city of Cleveland.

Jarrod stood waiting at his gate to see Mandy so he could spring forward as if he had just arrived. He waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally he called Mandy and she instantly inquired, "where are you?" To which he responded, "where are you?" Mandy was at
Gate D, Jarrod had goofed and went to Gate B. They ended up walking toward eachother and met in the middle. Jarrod covered his tracks, adding yet another fib by telling her the plane taxied, stopped, and taxied again. She totally bought it without thinking twice.

Jarrod talked her into watching airplanes take off from the 9th level as they had done on a previous date. Soon after he asked if she wanted to get some dinner. She said yes. He then turned her around to reveal a table with a ready to go candle-lit dinner. She gasped in amazement, "oh look, some cute couple is going to have a romantic dinner." Clueless with a capital C.

She put it all together (well not all of it) and they sat down to eat. They had a very enjoyable time catching up and discussing their last 48hrs. Jarrod went on and on about Cleveland and how similar it was to Chicago. After dinner and dessert they danced to the music that was playing. Then Jarrod asked her to sit down so he could sing her a song he had practiced (only about 100 times) on the guitar. He pretty much melted her heart with the sweet lyrics describing her beautiful smile.

And finally, he told her that he had brought her a souvenir from Ohio. He let her know that there was conditions to receiving the souvenir though. The first was that she had to love him forever, which she agreed to. Then he said,"and your answer to my next question has to be yes." That's when her stomach dropped and she realized what was about to happen. He immediately pulled out the ring, got down on one knee and proposed.
